Excel Audio programs provide students with the opportunity to solve
problems that are spoken aloud. You can
use them for two minutes of aural practice at the beginning
of class time to focus students on math.
Suggested
procedure for Excel Audio:
The
voice will state a math problem, and after a few
seconds, give the answer. Have the students record their answers
on a scrap piece of paper, Answer Board, or the margin of
their Lesson sheet before hearing the answer. If they are
unable to solve the problem, they can write the answer after
they hear it to instill the basic fact being taught.
Take
note: This exercise can be used at times other than
the math period, for example, as the students are lining up
to go to lunch or recess. Two Aural tests are available for each program. If you are using tapes, the tests are on the reverse side. When the front side says, "end
of tape", flip it over for the first test.
